Leap Discipleship Year, formerly known as Timothy Ministry Training (TMT), is an intensive discipleship program focused on training men and women for life and ministry within the context of the local church. As a ministry of Joshua Generation Church, Leap emphasizes the importance of both theoretical learning and practical application, modeled after the way Jesus trained His disciples.
The program follows a three-step approach: showing students what to do, doing it with them, and then sending them out to practice what they’ve learned. Originally founded in 2001, Leap has grown over the years and now continues to build on its legacy by launching a new program in San Clemente.
Courses
Leap Cape Town (RSA)
Situated in picturesque Wellington, South Africa; Leap Cape Town is a one-year intensive discipleship program designed to grow you in God and prepare for a future marked by the touch of the living God.
With a balance of practical training, theological teaching and deep personal connection, Leap Cape Town is the perfect place to devote a year to allowing God to sharpen you, mould you and change you into a better reflection of his Son.
The self-catering student accommodation includes shared rooms, study spaces with basic computers and Wi-Fi, and offers a peaceful, family-like atmosphere where students can work, study, and enjoy time together.

Leap San Clemente (USA)
Leap San Clemente is a brand-new extension of the Leap experience in South Africa that has blessed and trained many people through the years.
Situated in beautiful Orange County, California, students will be actively incorporated into the life of both Joshua Generation Church in Newport Beach and San Clemente, while being personally discipled by the local eldership in the congregations.

Once we have received your completed application form and application fee, we will contact you to arrange an interview. We could also call you to have your interview telephonically or via Skype for Applicants who are not able to come to Wellington. The interview will last about 45 min.
Upon acceptance you will receive all the information regarding the relevant arrangements for the year, as well as detailed sponsorship forms if required.
Leap San Clemente (USA)
Program Overview:
Our program runs from September 29th, 2026, to June 11th, 2027, for, American Residents, allowing for a full, immersive experience throughout the year.
For international students, participation is available from September 29th, 2026, to March 12th 2027 (up to 6 months), in alignment with visa regulations.
Because of this, international enrolment is limited to this specific timeframe and is not available outside of these dates.
We have intentionally structured the program this way to adhere to various requirements, while still creating a meaningful and impactful experience for every student who participates.
Costs:
American Resident Students: $650 per month for 9 months totalling to US $5 850. International Students: $650 per month for 6 months totalling to US $3 900.
